PSG ‘confident’ over Neymar; deal done by Wednesday?
Paris Saint-Germain are “very confident” that a deal to sign Neymar from Barcelona will be completed soon.
Neymar is thought to be considering his future at Barcelona, with the Brazilian said to be frustrated in the shadows of perennial superstar Lionel Messi.
The forward was pictured in a fight with new Barcelona signing Nelson Semedo last week, after which he stormed out of a training session.
PSG are said to be readying a £193million bid, which would more than double the current world-record fee – the £89.3m bid which saw Manchester United sign Paul Pogba.
We ranked Neymar as No.5 on our list of the ten players most likely to be the first to break the £100m barrier. We are silly.
PSG president Nasser Al-Khelaifi appears to be certain that talks are progressing with the player.
According to Yahoo Sport France, Al-Khelaifi told fellow PSG chiefs: “Negotiations for Neymar are going well. I’m very confident.”
Mohamed Bouhafsi, who broke the original story of PSG’s interest, now claims the deal could be done by Wednesday at the latest.
In a story for RMC Sport, he reports that PSG ‘want to complete the arrival of the Brazilian in Paris in the next 24-48 hours’.
Neymar’s medical could be conducted in Qatar, with PSG having obvious ties to the country.
PSG have offered the player a five-year contract, and the two ‘have never been so close’. Cute.
