“I lost my respect for Onyeka Onwenu after she shunned me at an event” – Aramide
Nigerian different singer, Aramide, who talked about her new single ‘Jomo’ in an interview with NET, recounted the incident that made her lose her respect for certainly one of her childhood inspirations, Onyeka Onwenu.
Aramide who narrated what occurred after she caught across the veteran singer for a photograph, stated;
‘I was still really new in the industry and I opened the stage for her, I got down and decided to take a picture with her, as soon as I got there she went off on me. She said ‘Don’t contact me’. It was just like the worst expertise I’ve had in my life. Everyone was staring at me. I don’t suppose she knew I opened the present for her’.
‘I even knelt down to greet her, and she said okay come and take the picture. For a moment, I felt bad, but the good thing about that kind of situation is that it makes you work really hard…I lost my respect for her after that event, I don’t suppose I’d see her and say whats up. But It was a very long time in the past. It is what it’s now, I’ve moved on,’ Aramide concluded.
The singer grew to become a preferred determine after she dropped her debut album ‘Suitcase’ which was extensively applauded, and likewise earned her U.S tour.
