Biafra agitation will affect Anambra election – INEC
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), says three parts would outline the November 28 Anambra guber election.
Dr. Nkwachukwu Orji, Resident Electoral Commissioner, stated this on Thursday in Awka throughout a two-day workshop for Civil Society Situation Room.
He listed the components to incorporate the pro-Biafra agitators, basic discontentment in all the South East area in addition to the safety challenges within the area.
Orji introduced that INEC will recruit about 20,000 personnel to conduct the governorship election
He defined that the workshop was “to provide a platform for the civil societies to interact with the INEC management to review the activities so far embarked upon by the commission in order to make plans for the future”.
Orji revealed that “a total of 35 candidates from various registered political parties emerged from their party primaries”.
He, nevertheless, added that a number of the events carried out theirs with out the presence of the electoral umpire.
